
Annika McCabe
INSTRUCTOR
Annika is a choreographer, performer and educator from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She has created choreography for Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU - Formerly Ryerson University) Choreographic Film Festival, Toronto Metropolitan University's EnChoreo, as well as traveled across Canada to create work for other young emerging artists. Most recently Annika had the pleasure of choreographing a play entitled Morning After for the Toronto Fringe Festival produced by a.front.company. Her work has been quoted in My Entertainment World as “hauntingly beautiful”. She has performed in works such as Angela Blumberg’s “Rite of Passage”; Alyssa Martin & Rock Bottom Movement’s “DinoLand”; Robert Glumbeck’s “Alpha Phemale”; and Andrea Nann’s “This is Where I Find Myself Today”. In 2022, Annika produced a dance show featuring choreographic works from emerging artists in Toronto title Collections. This also allowed her to have a platform to show her own original work. Annika has also performed for various prestigious conferences such as the International Women's Foundation of Canada and TEDx: PLAY. She also has worked as a dramaturg for various companies in Toronto. Most recently working with Rock Bottom Movement in collaboration with The National Ballet’s Sharing the Stage, for their work “DINO”. Annika also has had the privilege of being a teaching assistant at Toronto Metropolitan University’s Performance Dance program, assisting their Musical Theatre class alongside Fanny Ghorayeb and Paul Moody. She had the pleasure of rehearsal directing for ProArteDanza in the summer of 2023 for their Summer Intensive program. Annika has a BFA with honours from Toronto Metropolitan University’s Performance Dance program.
Annika is thrilled to have returned to her hometown to be able to share her passion for dance with the next generation of dancers!
