Grace Hanley
Ballet & Pointe
Dance has moved Grace since day one. Her journey into the world of dance began at the age of 3 at the Dance Centre where she picked up creative movement, jazz, tap and ballet. At 12 she chose to pursue intensive ballet training at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional Division. Highlights of her time at the school include her professional debut as Young Clara in the world premiere in Ottawa of RWB's new Nutcracker, when she choreographed for first steps, worked with Prima Ballerina Assoluta Eva Evdokimova to prepare for the title role of La Sylphide, performed at the Groundswell new music festival in New York City and danced the title role of Coppelia. Grace received the Arnold Spohr Scholarship, and the Prince Edward Award before her graduation. While with the Aspirant program at RWB, Grace was awarded a travel grant from Canada Council for the Arts for an audition tour in Europe, where she landed a contract with the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam. After 3 years performing, touring and adventuring overseas, Grace returned home to dance with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and later the National Ballet in Toronto, where she enjoyed exciting roles in many ballets and worked with countless renowned choreographers and master teachers. Grace is delighted to be able to share her passion and knowledge creatively with the students at Kickit.
