Joseph Sevillo

INSTRUCTOR

Joseph Sevillo is a musical theatre professional of 25 years and is a member of the Canadian Actors Equity Association. He is the founding director of RISE Musical Theatre Company and is the Creator of Ma-buhay! A New Musical which is a show that has been professionally developed and had its world premiere at Rainbow Stage this past summer where he was the Director. The goal for the show is now Broadway and beyond! He has been teaching Musical Theatre since 2015 and has garnered top awards in all musical theatre categories and aids in  building one of the largest musical theatre programs in the city. He is looking forward to joining the Kickit family and to help foster the love of musical theatre in these dancers. He has performed in professional musicals all across North America as a singer, dancer and actor in such shows as Mamma Mia, Beauty and the Beast, Evita, Billy Elliot, Miss Saigon, Seussical, A Chorus Line, Altar Boyz, Cinderella, Fame and Westside Story for Companies such as Rainbow Stage, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Theatre Calgary, Mirvish Productions, Drayton Festival, The Vancouver Opera, The Citadel, Prairie Theatre Exchange and Manitoba Theatre For Young People to name a few. He was an associate choreographer to mentor Patti Caplette for North American tours of Dora The Explorer, Shopkins, Backyardigans, Franklin The Turtle, Toopy and Binoo, Max and Ruby, Bubble Guppies and Strawberry Shortcake. Joseph is passionate about musical theatre and loves to empower, inspire, and elevate his students talents to the professional stage.
